Lions president gets 6 months probation (AP)

Detroit Lions president Tom Lewand pleaded guilty Friday to driving while impaired, two weeks after he was pulled over in northern lower Michigan for driving erratically near a bar. Lewand was sentenced to six months of probation with $870 in fines and costs, according to court administrator Cynthia Esckilsen of the 83rd District Court in Roscommon.

Former Carolina guard Keydrick Vincent has signed a two-year contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs announced the addition of the unrestricted free agent on Friday. To make room on the roster, the team released guard Sergio Render. Vincent was a starter for the Panthers the past two seasons. He has also played for Arizona, Baltimore and Pittsburgh during a nine-year career.
Green done at ESPN for child porn arrest (AP)

Jeremy Green, the son of former NFL coach Dennis Green, no longer has a job as an NFL analyst at ESPN after being arrested this week on a child pornography charge in Connecticut. Bristol police say the 38-year-old Green was picked up on Thursday around 5 p.m. in a Southington hotel and charged with possession of child pornography, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.

LB Pierce retires to become analyst (AP)

Linebacker Antonio Pierce has retired from the NFL after nine seasons and is joining ESPN as and NFL analyst. Pierce spent the past five seasons with the New York Giants and was released by the team in February. He was the Giants' defensive captain and helped team defeat the New England Patriots in the 2008 Super Bowl.
Vick in confrontation prior to shooting (AP)

The city's lead prosecutor said Wednesday night that Michael Vick was involved in a confrontation before a shooting following his birthday bash. Commonwealth's Attorney Harvey L. Bryant told The Associated Press Wednesday night in a telephone interview that Vick was not involved in the shooting and that he left the nightclub "in the 3 to 5 minute range" before it occurred.
Jets, LT Ferguson agree to $60M, 6 years (AP)

Pro Bowl left tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson agreed Wednesday to terms on a contract extension with the New York Jets, a person familiar with the deal told The Associated Press. A second person familiar with the negotiations said it's a six-year deal for $60 million. Both people requested anonymity because the deal had not yet been signed.
Veteran WR Engram signs with Browns (AP)

Free agent wide receiver Bobby Engram has signed with the Cleveland Browns. Terms of the deal announced Thursday were not disclosed. The 37-year-old Engram had five receptions for 61 yards in five games last season with the Kansas City Chiefs. Engram, a 14-year veteran, was a second-round draft pick of the Chicago Bears in 1996.
Falcons LB James suspended 4 games (AP)

The NFL has suspended Atlanta Falcons linebacker Robert James for four games for violating the league's substance-abuse policy. A team spokesman confirms the suspension Thursday. The 26-year-old James played in only one game and did not record a tackle. James, from Arizona State, was a fifth-round pick by the Falcons in 2008.
